Cundinamarca: Arrests in Silvania and Puerto Salgar for transporting narcotics

In the context of the new Police service model “Oriented to people and Territories”, the Cundinamarca Police Department has carried out key operations that resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics in the last few hours. In two different operations, 204 kilos of marijuana were seized on the Puerto Salgar – Puerto Boyacá highway and 6 kilos of coca base on the Silvania – Melgar route.

Captures on Cundinamarca roads

According to statements from the authorities given to the media “Fusaonline”, in the municipality of Silvania, a registration and control operation was carried out on the national highway that connects Cundinamarca with Tolima.

During the inspection of a bus, the authorities found a suitcase next to the driver’s seat that contained 6 kilos of coca base.

This finding highlights the importance of routine registration tasks in public transport vehicles, contributing significantly to road and citizen safety.

Operational in Puerto Salgar

The second operation took place on the Puerto Salgar – Puerto Boyacá road axis. Through patrolling, registration and control strategies carried out by members of the Transit and Transportation Section, a camper-type vehicle was inspected.

During the search, 204 kilograms of marijuana were discovered, whose final destination was the municipality of Aguachica, Cesar.

In this procedure, a person was captured in flagrante delicto, who was subsequently placed at the disposal of the competent authorities along with the vehicle and the seized narcotics.

Citizen Collaboration and Security

The National Police appreciates the continued support of the community and reiterates the importance of reporting any suspicious activity or activity that affects coexistence and citizen safety. Reports can be made through the emergency line 123 or at the nearest Police Station.

Control and Prevention Actions

These operations are part of a larger effort by the Cundinamarca Police Department to maintain security and order on the department’s roads. The strategies implemented include:

  1. Constant patrols on main and secondary roads.
  2. Control and registration posts at strategic points.
  3. Awareness campaigns aimed at drivers and passengers.

These actions not only seek to dismantle illegal drug transportation networks, but also improve security on the roads, increasing citizens’ trust in the authorities and in the department’s surveillance system.
