Córdoba Dance and Sing its Traditions Festival opens with more than 80 delegations

The Córdoba Danza y Canta su Tradiciones Festival, Bonche de Oro Awards, opened this Sunday, June 9, with the participation of more than 80 dance and native music delegations from the 30 municipalities of the department.

The event, which is held for the first time within the framework of the National Livestock Fair, takes place at the Montería Convention Center.

From the early hours of this Sunday, June 9, the participating groups, made up of children, young people and adults, arrived at the venue to show their talent in the forms of music and dance.

The festival has a prestigious jury made up of renowned figures from the musical and dance fields. In the music category, the presence of Juan Carlos Coronel, singer, composer and producer from Cartagena, stands out; Francisco Zumaqué, prominent composer and orchestra director; and Yeison Landero, singer-songwriter and accordion player, known as “the heir of cumbia.”

On the other hand, in the dance category, the jury is made up of Edelmira Massa Zapata, daughter of Delia Zapata Olivella and niece of the writer Manuel Zapata Olivella; Valeria Abuchaibe Rosales, dancer and queen number 100 of the Barranquilla Carnival; and Rosana Lignarolo, outstanding dancer and choreographer.

The Córdoba Danza y Canta sus Tradiciones Festival seeks to promote and preserve the native artistic expressions of the department, providing a space for local talents to shine and be recognized. This event adds to the extensive cultural programming offered by the National Livestock Fair, consolidating it as a comprehensive celebration that encompasses the tradition, culture and art of Córdoba.
