From the Ministry of Public Health, coordinated by Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, work continues in the fight against dengue.
During the day, the staff of the Vector Control Brigade, of the General Directorate of Environmental Health, was present in the SEOC neighborhood located in the southwest of the capital and proceeded to control the outbreak with a reported case of dengue.
In this type of operations, we proceed house to house in search of people with symptoms who are recommended to attend the nearest healthcare center. In addition, a review of the open spaces is carried out together with the homeowner in search of mosquito breeding sites. The visit ends with a chemical spraying of the interior and exterior.
In other activities carried out by the Directorate of Environmental Health, the El Salvador kindergarten was visited and an informative talk was given to the children about the symptoms and life cycle of the mosquito, how to prevent breeding sites from forming and how to treat them.
These actions seek to reduce the breeding sites of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, vector of dengue-Zika-chikungunya, to prevent its reproduction and avoid new infections.
These operations continue to be carried out daily throughout the province between health personnel and local governments.
