The Juan Filloy headquarters of the National Library and the Córdoba Library invite the presentation of the book Eugenia Cabralpublished by Babel Publishing Housewith the support of the Editorial Activity Stimulus Fund of the Ministry of Culture of the Municipality of Córdoba.
The author and poet says: “`Born in the province…’ are the first words of Sonnet to Saint Rose of Lima, composed by Luis de Tejada, considered the first poet of the viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. The expression also assumes the emblematic character that the poetry written in Córdoba is born from ancient and amassed literary tradition, which was mutating in its thematic forms according to the passage of historical development.
The subtitle “personal dossier” means that the text is not history in academic rigor; It is a dossier, or report, a subjective view to follow this cultural journey. A subjectivism that is not merely lyrical either, since it addresses the social and political context of artistic expressions, supporting personal statements in reliable documentation, or in allusions to facts, places, objects and names that are easy to verify, in addition to a minimal anthology of authors. Also from editors and translators that, among other names, include Blanca del Prado, Alfredo Brandán Caraffa, Alejandro Nores Martínez, Alfredo Terzaga, Enrique Luis Revol, Agustín Oscar Larrauri, Vicente Rossi and magazines such as Laurel and Mediterránea.
Participating in the presentation are Andrea Guiu (writer and visual artist), Fernando Castello (actor) and the author Eugenia Cabral.
