The Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Petovellowill not attend to present before a commission of Social Action and Public Healthsince the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menemdid not extend the invitation, which generated the complaint of the block of Union for the Homeland.
Yedlin had requested last Thursday to Menem to send the summons to the minister, but given the decision of the head of the Chamber not to grant his request, the UP deputy decided to send a note to the minister Petovello where he called her for this Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. to present before the commission, in order to explain what happened to the stored food and its distribution.
Menem sent a note to Yedlin (UP-Tucumán) and informed him that the heads of the Budget commissions, José Luis Espert (LLA-Buenos Aires), and Constitutional Affairs, Nicolás Mayoraz (LLA-Córdoba) requested that “no invitation to compete” to Petovello, since these bodies also have to analyze projects where the minister is requested to be summoned to explain the issue of food.
The head of the lower house expressed: “To date I received notes from the presidents of those two commissions in which they asked me not to issue any invitation until they begin studying the issues and eventually issue a decision on the matter.”
In the note, Menem pointed out that Social Action and Public Health should have informed the other commissions where those files should be dealt with that they had summoned Minister Petovello, although the decision of that body is not a formal summons but rather an invitation to the official to present.
The decision of Menem generated the rejection of the president of the UP bloc, Germán Martínez, who pointed out on the social network “Menem has (almost identical) notes sent by Espert and Mayoraz to prevent Pettovello from giving explanations to the Health and Social Action Commission.”
“The three seek to guarantee obscurantism to Pettovello. They will be co-responsible,” stressed the man from Santa Fe.
Yedlin said that the call “responds to public concerns that arise about the management of the Ministry since there are questions about the storage of food, its expiration and distribution.”
He added that “the purpose of the legislators is to know first-hand and the political person responsible for the management of the area, the detailed axes and any others about which you want to present.”
