In a joint operation between the Municipality of Porongo and Municipal District 1, local authorities carried out a control of merchants and vehicular traffic in the area of the Puente del Urubó and the fourth ring of San Martín Avenue.

The operation focused on clearing the area affected by street traders and in the regulation of vehicular traffic. According to Alfredo Busonich, Deputy Mayor of Municipal District 1, the action responded to the demands of residents of the metropolitan area, who expressed their concern about the risk posed by the presence of street vendors in unauthorized places.

Deybi Cruz, operational head of the Department of Public Space Inspection, explained that, given the refusal of the merchants to comply with the eviction orders, their products were confiscated.

This operation, Cruz indicated, has the main objective of improving safety and health in the area, since the sales conditions in public spaces are not optimal and can put the lives of passersby and the health of consumers at risk.

Mauricio Romero, head of the Risk Management Unit of the Municipality of Porongo, highlighted the importance of continuing to work in a coordinated manner for the well-being of the neighbors.

According to the Municipality of Santa Cruz, the action seeks not only to clear the area and improve vehicular circulation, but also to guarantee that activities commercial activities are carried out in appropriate places and under safe conditions for all.
