Carlos Pinedo, mayor of Santa Marta, announced the restoration of the rights of the Community Action Boards, JAC, offering an important benefit to the citizens of the Goenaga, Valle de Gaira, Villa del Carmen, El Cisne, Rodrigo Ahumada and Jamonacal neighborhoods.

“One of the first directives that I gave as mayor of Santa Marta was to restore the rights of the Community Action Boards, rights that were violated in previous administrations. We will not remain in the rhetoric of the past; Our focus is on the present,” said Mayor Carlos Pinedo.

The mayor expressed his gratitude to his work team and to the observers who have always been concerned about the situation of all the Community Action Boards of the Santa Marta district. “We reiterate our commitment to guarantee democracy and the rights of those who elect it, because that is the essence of democracy”he added.

“We will continue working with the Community Action Boards, carrying out works in the neighborhoods and ensuring their inclusion in this administration,” assured Mayor Pinedo.

Finally, the mayor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparency: “We hope that the judges receive all the documentation about the 40 Community Action Boards under suspicion, because in this administration nothing is hidden. Under no circumstances will we allow the manipulation of any election.”
