With the aim of knowing and deepening the history of Tucumán based on the figure of Bernabé Aráoz; At the CIIDEPT, around 150 students from 9 secondary schools gathered for the screening of the documentary “I am Bernabé Aráoz”; and then carry out multidisciplinary workshops on what was learned through the film.

During the opening of the day, the Secretary of Education accompaniedGabriela Gallardo; the director of Secondary Education, Rosa Casares; The movie director, Fabián Soberón and the historian Facundo Nanni.

The participating institutions were: Bernabé Aráoz Secondary School; Dr. Leandro N. Alem Secondary School, Virgen de La Merced Middle School; Lola Mora Middle School; Marina Alfaro Secondary School, Congress School of Tucumán, Technical School No. 2 Obispo Colombres, Puente Institute and Congress Institute of Tucumán.

Juliet Teitelbaum, member of the technical team of the Directorate of Secondary Education, commented “we have brought together 150 secondary school students who have come to work in workshops to deepen their learning about this historical figure. They are workshops on production, writing, discussion, historical comics, a journalism workshop; So we are happy that with the excuse of the movie we have a trigger to work with in an interesting way. “Teenagers have a lot of things to say and their questions and looks are always helpful.”

Mia Salis, student at the Congress Institute of Tucumán, highlighted: “I liked the film, especially the ending, I didn’t know that he was shot and it is a fact that I will take with me. In the workshops they made us dance, and do activities that I found fun too.”

Evelin Luna, student at the Puente Institute, added “Bernabé Aráoz is not something that is taught in many schools, I found it interesting that there is no clear image of how he looks and can be interpreted in different ways. It is interesting, something new and it is not an activity that is done every day.”

“I found it quite interesting that they taught us about the life of a leader, who was the first governor of Tucumán. It is interesting that they tell us his story because some of us knew the story, and I also find it interesting that they make us do workshops about what we learned from watching the documentary,” concluded Benjamín Juárez, a student at the Secondary School. Marina Alf.
