A violent attack occurred on the road to the township of Minca, in Santa Marta, has resulted in the death of Solyenis Ivana Barros González, a 32-year-old woman who was shot and killed while riding alone on her motorcycle.

This tragic event is the most recent in a series of murders related to the fight for control of drug sales in the region.
However, the hitman, who was a passenger on a motorcycle, chased her and shot her six times, concentrating the shots on her face.
Barros died instantly at the scene, whileand his murderer escaped without difficulty.

This case brings the number of violent deaths to almost 100 so far this year, reflecting the serious security situation facing the city.

Solyenis Barros González had been arrested in May 2022 for the crimes of possession and trafficking of narcotics. During a search and raid operation at his home, in the Gaira sector, the authorities found bazuco bags, a gramera and cash, evidence that indicated his participation in the sale of drugs.
Despite benefiting from a security measure in a prison facility, it appears that she continued to be linked to illicit activities, which could have motivated her murder.
Barros was known for her involvement in the distribution of illegal substances in several neighborhoods of Santa Marta, including 12 de Octubre, Vista al Mar, Vista Hermosa and La Cangrejera.
Authorities continue to investigate the case in an effort to capture those responsible and dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
