The city of Neuquén is preparing to experience winter vacations at full capacity, and the tourist and recreational proposals will be very varied both for the residents who decide to enjoy their days off in the capital, as well as for all those who visit it.

The Secretary of Tourism and Human Promotion, Diego Cayol, said that like every season the Municipality of Neuquén will maintain all traditional free activities and the recently inaugurated ones, some other special ones that will be finalized with other areas of the commune, and others with tourism providers, entrepreneurs and gastronomic businesses.

“Are three weeks dedicated to receiving tourists in the city,” He said and invited all Neuquén residents to enjoy them and take advantage of all the free offers available.

Cayol said that “Neuquén has an important characteristic and that is that during the week it maintains a high level of corporate tourism, and from there it spreads throughout the country,” he said and estimated that during these holidays there will be a high percentage of occupancy: “We believe that most of them will come from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, Alto Valle and the rest of Patagonia.”

Like every day of the year, the tours offered by the Municipality will continue accompanied by tourist guides who allow those who listen to them to discover new stories about the city.


The different tourist routes in Neuquén


These tours are many and he recalled that in addition to the Traditional tourist bus and minibuses along the coastal promenade and viewing points; there are also minibus tours to the Talero Tower; to the Luis Antonini Forest; to the “Las Bardas” Park; the Relatos Neuquinos del Ayer pedestrian circuit; the visit to the Hiroki peninsula and the Historic Pedestrian Circuit.

Regarding the news organized by the Municipality, he specified that there will be a free circuit on Island 132 for these holidays. “It is an activity with transfer by minibus from the center’s information office, to island 132. The objective is to tell about the transformation and creation of the South Park in the City of Neuquén, there will be observation of the flora and fauna of Island 132 and a guided pedestrian tour on the island’s trails”the official detailed and clarified that it lasts 2 hours.

Another special offer will be on July 9, coinciding with Independence Day. “It will be a pedestrian route that will focus on the first patriotic celebrations from 1916 to the current celebrations. The visit will be to two places in the city, which are related to the date: Plaza Julio Argentino Roca as the meeting point and starting point of the activity, and Plaza Ministerio González, as the end and closure. The tour will last 1 hour and will begin at 2:30 p.m.,” Cayol developed and said that all proposals require prior registration at the Center’s Tourist Office.

Thinking of the whole family and organized by various areas of the Municipality, an afternoon of recreational activities will be held on Island 132, and there will be two editions: Friday 12 and 19 July. “We will have different game stations, guided walks on the Island trails, and guided trips in minibuses along the river coast to the Limay viewpoint,” he explained and said that the meeting point will be at the Water Resources beach, from 2 to 5 pm.

“Parque Norte will be another of the special offers this winter,” said Cayol, who added that there will be a minibus transfer from the information office in the center to Plaza de las Banderas. “This is the meeting point and starting point for the activity, where you can observe the transformation of the fence by the hand of man, in addition to the native, planted flora and the different artifacts made by man, among other characteristics of the place.” The walking tour lasts 2 hours visiting the 3 viewpoints with interpretive signage, ending at the astronomical observatory.


Gastronomic proposals for these holidays


On the other hand, on Tuesday the 16th there will be “Delights of Neuquén: Pastry, Tea and Coffee Festival.” It will be held at the Rainbow Casino Magic in Neuquén, from 3 to 7 pm, with free admission, “but everything consumed will have to be paid for,” the official clarified, and explained that it will be “a pastry and infusion festival, where local food producers will exhibit their products and delicacies, and attendees will enjoy them.”

From July 15 to 28, it was organized “Winter Flavors,” a proposal that will focus on gastronomy “During those days, participating restaurants will offer a “3-Step Menu with Regional Identity,” and diners will be able to rate their gastronomic experience by completing a rating form, thereby participating in raffles.”

Other activities organized with tourism providers will be: “Friends’ Day float” and the “Extreme Beer Tour”, both on Saturday the 20th. The first is a rented activity that is carried out with a tourist provider in the area. “We propose to transfer participants from the center’s tourist information office to the departure point, and back to the center. The meeting time is at 1:30 p.m., and the starting point of the activity is the river coast at Solalique Street, ending at the Paseo de la Costa, with a snack at an intermediate stop on the way down. from the river”.

Regarding the second, it was also clarified that it is rented and will have two parts. On the one hand, There is the tour of 4 breweries in the area, and on the other hand, special beers brewed for this event will be presented in a common beer bar.
