The Undersecretary of Social Sports of the Province, Claudia Vasquez, was present in Buenos Aires at the meeting that included the country’s highest sports authorities. There, national leaders confirmed the continuity of the Evita Games and a future work agenda was agreed upon.

The Federal Sports Meeting was headed by the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation, Daniel Scioli and the Undersecretary of Sports of the Nation, Julio Garro. The meeting took place at CENARD, National Center for High Sports Performance.

On the occasion, the national authorities formally presented the work plan for the year 2024 and all the topics on the national and local sports agenda were discussed.

During the meeting, Scioli and Garro ratified the continuity of the Evita National Sports Games, which will have their final in Mar del Plata from November 4 to 9, with a focus that points to the projection towards the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games As anticipated, the games will have their respective municipal and provincial bodies, as well as training and clinics for participants, coaches and delegates.

The national authorities also received the concerns presented by the provincial representatives, assuming the commitment to work and define issues such as: the Nation’s budget contribution for the Evita Games; respond to the request of the provinces to jointly evaluate the competition organization scheme according to the sporting reality of each of them and a new work meeting scheduled within the next 40 days to develop the federal sports program .

The Undersecretary of Sports Claudia Vásquez emphasized what Salta needs to strengthen sports and described the meeting as “positive, where we presented the different topics to work together with the Nation and we agreed to meet again to advance on different projects.” .

The official indicated that negotiations will continue with the Nation with the aim of strengthening the sport. “In addition, we will work on a joint agenda that allows us growth and development as Governor Gustavo Sáenz entrusted us with.”

At the meeting, the officials also spoke about other public policies implemented by the National Government in sports such as the Argentine Clubs program, Sports Initiation Schools, Training and the TAR and DAR programs that the undersecretary carries out together with ENARD.
