During the weekend, an event was held with various live performances to receive Fernando Jara, Dante’s father, in Antofagasta. Jara has walked from Arica to the regional capital with the aim of raising funds to buy the medicine that his son, affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, urgently needs.
The event took place on the esplanade on the north side of the Calvo y Bascuñán Regional Stadium at 4:00 p.m. this Saturday. The invitation to support the cause was spread through the campaign’s social networks. With a value of $1,000, the ticket allowed you to enjoy an afternoon with national artists, DJ’s, raffles and other activities.
«The truth is, recharging energy for my city, receiving support from the people… My feet hurt a lot, but we continue to hold on. Every step we take is one less step to reach the goal. At this moment we have 212 million; We hope that today it will rise a lot to give the count tonight,” said Fernando Jara after arriving in the regional capital, accompanied by the warm reception of the people.
On Sunday, June 9, at 12:00 pm, another fundraising activity was held in the Rinconada sector, organized by ParAdventure, an agency that offers skydiving experiences. The cost of admission per person was $35,000, and all funds raised that afternoon went to Dante.
