The Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta reported the capture of Jhon Jairo Herrera Palencia alias JJ, an explosives expert from Boque Magdalena Medio of the Residual Organized Armed Group GAOR 33 of the Central General Staff (‘EMC’), for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms, ammunition, accessories and explosives.

The capture operation was led by the Dijín and Sipol in coordination with the GOES, in the Ospina Pérez neighborhood, in the capital of Norte de Santander.
“Alias JJ, had been in the criminal organization for 6 years and was in charge of carrying out criminal intelligence activities, materializing his tentacles in the municipalities of Abrego, Ocaña, Tibú and the city of Cúcuta-Norte de Santander,” the Police said.
In addition, he would be in charge of activating the urban networks of this armed group, “to attack the life and integrity of imembers of criminal groups in Cúcuta” and would be in the coordination of selective homicides in the city.

The Police detailed that to locate this man, 27 security cameras were analyzed, with more than 300 hours of recording, following the timeline of this criminal.
“The investigation lasted 10 months until he was captured on June 8, from whom a caliber revolver was seized. 38, a fragmentation grenade and ammunition,” the Police said.
This criminal was left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office 129 specialized against criminal organizations and is currently under intramural measure.
