The Consciousness Association held its annual dinner this Tuesday and put at the center of the national debate the need to generate a “federal educational agreement” to achieve a better level of education for children, an improvement in school infrastructure and an increase in the rate of young people who finish school. This is how the new Executive Director described it in his words, Juan Manuel Fernández Alves.

“Are we really capable of thinking that Argentina’s best days are yet to come? For us, yes. Because there are no unviable Argentines. In any case, there are some who are born with more or less opportunities. Every day we leave everything to try to level that field,” he said.

Along the same lines, he highlighted that “the educational completion rate in secondary school is 37% in the poorest place in Argentina, while in the places with more resources, it reaches the 85%”. And he added, in a clear message to the political system: “This happens in an Argentina that hurts us, where 7 out of 10 children grow up in poor places.”
