Havana, June 27 (ACN) The Association of Bartenders of Cuba (ACC), the oldest organization of its kind in the world, celebrates its Centennial in competitive events in which the country’s bartenders show their skills.
At the National Hotel of Cuba, the iconic site of the canteen in the Caribbean nation, the ACC flags paraded next to that of the lone star, and on Wednesday night they inaugurated the event, which concludes today, with the presence of Giogio Fadda, President of the International Bartenders Association (IBA), Eddys Naranjo Castillo at the head of the ACC and José Rafa Malém, honorary president of the Cuban Association, among other personalities.
For Raúl León, multiple award winner in the Flair category and president of that category on the Island, celebrating the 100 years of the ACC, which he joined almost 40 years ago, is a source of satisfaction. Cuban bartenders have earned recognition at the highest level, as shown by the champions who today make the organization proud.
The prominent bartender highlighted the role of women in these issues, with several well-known, including Kenia Borges, barwoman at the Meliá Internacional Varadero hotel, Pan-American champion
Raúl León said that the most important thing is the preparation of the young people who are today the replacement, the role of teachers in constant training, the will to learn, grow, put the heart and put aside the nerves when presenting the projects.
Fadda saluted the ACC on its Centennial and reaffirmed the prestige of Cubans in each of the modalities and trends of the canteen today.
The competitions will conclude on Thursday and the winners’ results will be announced in the preparation of cocktails based on Havana Club rum.
