A total of five parties lost their registration in San Luis Potosí, according to the data provided by the CEEPAC Total Council Election Count. The parties are PRD, PT, CP, PML and PES.
So that a party can continue receiving recognition and ministrations from the State Electoral and Citizen Participation Council (CEEPAC)it is necessary that it gather at least 3% of the total votes.
In this sense, the past June 2nd a valid vote cast was recorded 1 million 247 thousand 265 votes in the election of deputies.
It should be noted that the Electoral Legislation The current law provides that state political parties will lose their registration for not obtaining, in the immediately preceding ordinary election, at least 3% of the valid vote cast in at least one of the elections for governor or deputies.
5 parties lose their registration in San Luis Potosí
Consequently, these 5 parties lost their local registration, as they did not reach the minimum required:
- Popular Consciousness (CP): 1.69% with 22 thousand 275 votes
- Labor Movement Party (PML): 1.96% with 25 thousand 839
- Solidarity Meeting Party (PES): 1.99% with 26 thousand 240
- Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD): 2.40% with 31 thousand 626
- Labor Party (PT): 2.87% with 37 thousand 881
Now, like the PT, other parties that disappear managed to win city councils, so the presidents and the first councilors would be left without party representation:
- PML: 2 town councils
- PT: 1
- PRD: 1
- CP: 1
Three parties enter the prevention phase in San Luis Potosí
The liquidation procedure of a Local Political Party consists of three phases: Prevention, with the purpose of taking the necessary precautionary actions to protect the assets of the political party; settlement; and adjudication.
That is, CEEPAC determined that the local parties CP, PML and PES will begin the prevention stage after the loss of their registration.
