The Nation’s Tourism Management Training Program seeks to provide innovative content and management tools for the sustainable development of tourism, with keynote talks, workshops and visits to two destinations in Argentina to encourage interaction between participants.

The red land was chosen as the first venue of the year for the Federal Integration Day, receiving two officials (ministers, undersecretaries and directors) from tourist areas of the different provinces of the country.

This experience, which is part of one of the instances of the general proposal, aims to share the local management model from an experiential perspective, highlighting its strategies, decisions and vision in the consolidation of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) and sustainability.

“Misiones is chosen by the CFI for the second year and that speaks of the maturity of the destination, of the articulated work between municipalities-province-private sector. “We are very happy to be hosts, especially for an occasion of this type,” said the Minister of Tourism, José María Arrúa, during one of the visits on the tour carried out by the group of officials.

For her part, the representative of the Federal Investment Council in Misiones, Viviana Rovira, added that “the initiative responds to the work of the CFI with the provinces and the needs identified in the tourism markets, promoting public policies aimed at the design of management models based in DTI.”

During this visit, officials have the opportunity to tour various municipalities and attractions, including Posadas (city tour and strategic points); the Jesuit Missions as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, conservation of cultural heritage, and the articulation between different actors that is carried out; the Camellias Complex in Oberá where a workshop on the design and formulation of public policies will be held; the Park of Nations also in Oberá to publicize local gastronomy, community work, the enhancement of cultural identity, event management and the deseasonalization of demand.

Another point to visit will be the Center for the production and validation of horticultural technologies in San Vicente, as a provincial initiative, raising awareness among producers, hydroponic production methodology, input for gastronomy – fruits and vegetables; the Moconá Falls and its social and environmental responsibility program, environmental management certificate: Preferred By Nature, the tourist experiences it provides, and its business model; and El Soberbio, with its Citronella – OVOP project, showing itself as the National Capital of Essences and a reference for agrotourism.

The tour will allow attendees to observe and get closer to the tourism management practices implemented in the red land, characterized by a cutting-edge technological structure, accessibility, interaction and respect for the natural environment, increased quality of the tourist experience and sustainable development.

This meeting not only highlights the capacity of Misiones as an innovative tourist destination, but also strengthens collaboration between the provinces for the development of effective federal public policies.
