More than 200 students have already visited the Campo Alegre Water Treatment Plant

With this week’s visits, there are now more than 200 secondary and tertiary students who visited the Campo Alegre water purification plant, in La Caldera.

Yesterday, students of the tertiary course of Hygiene and Safety from an institute in the city of Salta accessed a guided tour that was led by the general manager of Aguas del Norte, Juan Bazan.

In the first instance, the students are received by the Company authorities and given a talk about the history and process of purification in the establishment. Next, the plant manager guides them on a tour of the different sectors while providing details of the operation in each area.

Bazán pointed out that “we are in a stage of travel so that, through the students of secondary schools and university courses, they become aware of this supply system, which is one of the most modern in South America, it is the fourth or fifth plant “which has this characteristic at the continental level and the second in the country.”

Bazán highlighted that “this is a very ambitious work: the design is ours, the financing is from international organizations and for us we are proud of this plant that has not only technology and equipment, but human resources that have superlative quality and that are operating this drinking water supply system with great efficiency.”

Through these visits, students from secondary schools, tertiary institutes and universities can learn about the processes carried out in the plant to make the water drinkable and then reach the homes of thousands of Salteños.

How to take part

Aguas del Norte carries out the educational plan with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of such a vital element as drinking water and the need for responsible use.

As part of the program, guided tours are carried out for groups of no more than 30 people, where students from different educational institutions at the secondary, tertiary and university levels learn the step by step process of water purification, the importance of its care and the environment.

Those who want to join this experience must submit a visit request to the company’s commercial offices.
