Agreement with the Nation: Province will absorb more than 2 thousand public works – Nuevo Diario de Salta | The little diary

The Province provided details of the public works agreement that the governor reached with the national government.

Sergio Camacho, The minister of infrastructure and chief of staff detailed how the completion of works will be carried out throughout the provincial territory.

Yesterday, the governor Gustavo Saenz reached an agreement with the chief of staff of the Nation, Guillermo Francos, so that the national executive can continue with large-scale works. Meanwhile, the province will face other works with its own resources.

“This management indicates the beginning of a new stage. This new stage will continue with different and other State agencies that involve more works. We are talking about the Ministry of Public Works, the Secretary of Habitat and part of the Ministry of Human Capital with the Ministry of Education,” he indicated.

Camacho also highlighted that Salta is the first province to achieve the signing of these three agreements as a result of the governor’s efforts.

Ministry of Public Works

In this area, the agreement involves three annexes: one financed by the province, another financed by the Nation and the third that is pending financing.

Annex one has 47 works for an amount of 14,719 million pesos. These include ENOSA works and the completion of 17 Child Development Centers. Also, those of a historical nature such as Fort Cobos, the Güemes Monument and the Historical House of Finca El Carmen.

One of the main works that the province will face is the elevation of the El Limón Dam, which will guarantee better water service for the San Martín department.

Annex 2 mainly includes road works such as Route 9/34, Route 51; the Vaqueros Bridge, Route 50 and Route 68.

Also, the Nation will face the completion of the Judicial City of Oran and the local liquid treatment plant in the southern area.

In total, there will be 15 works for an amount of 272,834 million

The third annex includes works from the “Argentina Hace” program that is no longer in force. These are 23 works that require financing of 7,249 million.

“They will be incorporated into this budget and in 2025, it will be a joint execution between the province and the municipalities,” indicated the minister.

Habitat Secretariat

The Province will be in charge of carrying out the housing plans, with a current execution of around 2,000 homes. In the Capital, 1,126 are being executed and in the interior 757 distributed in different locations.

“These works will be completed by the province based on a previous savings model for future contractors, with a contribution also from the province. The important thing to highlight is that everything invested by the Nation so far, which is an advance of 65% on average, previously returned to the trust of origin and now what the governor has achieved is that the recovery of those fees will remain in the province for reinvest it,” reported Camacho.

Education secretary

Regarding works linked to the education sector, a total of 33 works were also divided into three annexes.

The province faces remodeling or expanding schools. These are 18, whose total investment amount is 3,906 million, of which 2,214 million are owed.

The Nation, for its part, will be responsible for the construction of 12 new school buildings. The total amount of the works is 3,854 million, and with the progress they are in, it remains to contribute 1,820 million.

Finally, there are three works that will remain pending decision, for which 604 million are missing to be completed.

Works of other organizations

Camacho indicated that other works outside the three aforementioned organizations are also within the negotiation. These are: General Güemes Logistics Node, Calchaquíes Valleys Gas Pipeline, C14 and C15 Branches, Martín Miguel de Güemes Airport, Waste Treatment Plant in Orán, Photovoltaic Generation Plant in Luracatao and the San Agustín – Campo High Voltage Line Quijano – Jump.

For the moment, the only one that will continue with certainty is the Airport with an investment of 86 billion pesos and a completion period in two years.

On the way to progress is the Oran treatment plant that is under negotiation, but still without an agreement. The photovoltaic generation plant is in a similar situation.
