Ipiales, Nariño – In the border city of Ipiales, an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN), the Police Intelligence Section (SIPOL) and the Special Operations Group (GOES) resulted in the capture of seven individuals belonging to the group “Los Coyotes”, accused of migrant trafficking.
The operation was carried out in the town of San Juan and the Rumichaca neighborhood, where the suspects were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, migrant trafficking, material falsification in a public document and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of weapons. of fire, accessories, parts or ammunition. In the raids, more than 22 million pesos and $6,726 in cash were seized.
The 126 rescued foreigners were handed over to Migración Colombia for their protection and subsequent management.
