In response to the request of the radio, television and telecommunications media housed in Cerro Tarapacá, a key meeting was held to address the power interruptions that affect their transmissions.
This important activityled by the Seremi de Energía, Séfora Sidgman, accompanied by the Regional Director of the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels (SEC), Sergio Barra and professionals from CGE, Its objective was to report the technical aspects that cause the interruptions, as well as to define a collaborative strategy to face these events that impact the operations of local media.
Seremi Zipporah Sidgman referred to the causes and measures. “We understand that continuity of power supply is vital for the proper functioning of local media outlets, especially those housed at Cerro Tarapacá, which is why we have met and discussed how to minimize future disruptions, e.g. through public investment funds available to develop an energy project based on renewable energies.”
The authority added that “This meeting arises is requested by the media themselves, and we hope it is a step towards the implementation of effective solutions that guarantee energy stability in the area.”
