Another traffic accident in Aguabonita via Fusagasugá, Sibaté, Cundinamarca

New traffic accident in Aguabonita, jurisdiction of Silvania, does not leave any serious effects on travelers.

The case occurred around 5:40 in the morning this Wednesday (June 12) very close to the bridge known as Puente Uno a Uno, according to reports from Fusdagasugá Firefighters.

At the moment the reasons for the mishap are unknown; The authorities have not provided a comprehensive report on what happened. It is only known that a cargo vehicle and a red private car were involved.

The event was attended to by lifeguard units including the Red Cross under the agreement with the Institute of Infrastructure and Concessions of Cundinamarca, ICCU.

Additionally, while the lifeguard units were returning, they encountered another accident. In the sidewalk area Bermejal Firefighters attended to the overturning of a bus that was heading towards La Aguadita. There were no injuries. Only the driver suffered some minor injuries.

The new eventuality on that highway between Fusagasugá and Sibaté adds to a series of traffic events with risk for travelers. The section became a scene of concern for the users of that road.

Casualty list

There are several emergencies that have occurred in recent months on the old highway between Bogotá and Fusagasugá. The morning of this June 3or, Monday, a traffic accident left three people injured a few meters from the tunnel in Sibate.

The accident involved an NKR food transport van and a private car. Despite the course of the days, its causes have not yet been made known by the authorities.

Reports indicated that one of the car’s occupants had to be taken to a medical facility due to the severity of their injuries. He was referred to the San Luis de Soacha Clinic where he received medical attention. The remaining people involved received first aid at the scene of the accident.

Four days later, on Friday, June 7, Fusagasugá Firefighters and the Red Cross rescued a woman whose vehicle rolled 100 meters down an abyss in the Las Cruces sector, on the road between Sibaté and Fusagasugá. The fall of the car was cushioned by the trees, bushes and thick vegetation in the upper part of the mountain. That saved the woman who was driving the private vehicle, according to experts.

She suffered head trauma and multiple contusions. She received care in San Rafael de Fusagasugá Hospital after being evaluated by paramedics. According to him Corporal Rafael Novoa of the Fire Department, the rescue operation required the use of special height equipment, ropes and an extraction system to take the victim to the ambulance. The vehicle was a total loss.

Other incidents on the same road

At the beginning of February, on Monday, February 5, a private vehicle left the road, falling into a cliff near the San Miguel Toll, about a kilometer down. No fatalities were recorded.

The same day, in the sector of Bermejal, a multiple crash occurred; Three vehicles were compromised. Emergency equipment, including the M-10 Ambulance, the M-7 Machine, the M-15 Motorcycle, and a crane ICCU, they went to the place. Three people were injured and were taken to a care center in Fusagasugá by Continental ambulances.

Given this circumstance and the succession of accidents on the highway between Fusagasugá and Sibaté, the authorities called the attention of users to take extreme precautions. For now there is no word on special measures at the hands of the corresponding organizations.
