The Secretary of the Departmental Government Edwin Useche Niño, along with the other Institutions that are present in our department and that make up the Committee, participated in an important session of the Immediate Action Team (EAI).

In accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 258 of 2020 “by which the Immediate Action Team (EAI) is created in the Department of Guaviare for the prevention of recruitment, use, utilization and sexual violence against children and adolescents by organized armed groups.

San José del Guaviare presents 10 alerts, 2 of them are for forced recruitment, Miraflores: 11 alerts, 3 are for forced recruitment of minors, Calamar and El Retorno: 9 alerts, in each one 2 are for forced recruitment. Therefore, the government secretary pointed out that although there are 30 alerts in these municipalities of Guaviare and 18 are of forced recruitment, there are no reports of recent cases of recruitment in the department.

With the leadership of Governor Yeison Rojas, we are working as a team to prevent the recruitment of children and adolescents by illegal armed groups in Guaviare.

These data are provided by Family Welfare and Unicef. The Government Secretariat is analyzing and investigating to establish the veracity of the data.

The secretary indicated that at the request of Unicef ​​this meeting was held to contextualize the state of the recruitment phenomenon in the country and the modalities that have been presented.
