On this Wednesday morning, alleged members of the front Jaime Martínez, of the Central General Staff of the FARCattacked the Police station in Cajibío, center of the department of Cauca.

The strong attacks lasted for two hours and the intervention of several helicopters sent from the city of Popayán to control the situation.

The local mayor’s office assured that the attack left several homes damaged and no injuries or fatalities were reported. Likewise, the municipal administration and other local entities decided to cancel the service of users, due to the alteration of public order. Educational institutions also canceled their school activities.

Octavio Guzmán, governor of Cauca, regretted what happened and stated that “thanks to the fact that the Public Force has been reinforced, “Rapid air support was needed to contain the actions of these groups that attack the population.”

National Army troops are in the urban area of ​​Cajibíoreinforcing security.
