A behavioral therapist and instructional assistant at an elementary school was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor at his home in San José.

The suspect identified as Alejandro López Núñez worked at Trumpet Behavioral Health and Forest Hill Elementary School, according to authorities.

Police reported that on June 8 they went to the victim’s home after receiving a report about a sexual assault.

During the investigation, authorities determined that Núñez had attacked the victim the day before.

Núñez allegedly sexually assaulted the minor since March.

The suspect was taken to Santa Clara County Jail where he faces charges of sexual assault of a minor.

Based on the suspect’s position as a trusted person, SJPD believes there may be additional victims.
