Around 9:00 in the morning of this Wednesday, June 12, the mobilization called by the Colombian Federation of Education Workers (Fecode) was carried out, which was raised with the objective of rejecting the bill education statute that is about to be approved in Congress.

It is important to mention that Fecode also expressed the idea that the strike will continue due to the crisis that arose from the educational reform and the lack of attention to teachers by President Gustavo Petro.

At this time it appears a blockade of protesters on 26th Street, west – east direction, at the height of Carrera 19B, specifically on the exclusive TransMilenio road, both directions.

The authorities are on site carrying out accompaniment. It is worth remembering that a few hours ago there had been road damage on 26th Street, west – east, due to the marches.

The demonstration advances on Carrera 7, north – south direction, at the height of 32nd Street. This was indicated through the X account, a social network formerly Twitter.

Fecode shared images of the Bogotá teachers during their participation in today’s event.

Through social networks, Fecode reported that after 11:00 in the morning, the mobilization began on 26th Street in Bogotá. “(…) This is a great unity for the defense of public education,” he noted.

As announced, the country’s capital begins to gather citizens to comply with the Fecode call. This Wednesday, June 12, the Protestants will mobilize with banners in which they expressed messages such as “state public education is a right, not a business,” among others.
