Workers of the Mental Health service of the Castro Rendón hospital in Neuquén, They targeted the provincial government and the management of the medical center for the lack of resources in the area.

From the workers assembly they indicated that There is a very irregular situation that affects users of the service and health personnel.

Among the issues they highlighted is the absence of intermediate assisted accommodation devices (halfway houses, or cohabitation houses) for “users who are hospitalized for a prolonged period in the acute care ward.”

They pointed out that There is a person living in the room for 6 years. “The fundamental principles promoted in the National Mental Health Law 26,657 are violated, responding to a madhouse logic,” they accused.

They also indicated that there is a lack of financial contributions destined for housing, food and inputs and that there is a lack of human resources for the role of companions therapeutics, external support and caregivers.

Another issue they raised was the incorporation of positions of graduates in Social Work fundamental for the outpatient and inpatient approach.

“Faced with this situation, the Review Body has not been able to collaborate with a response and defense in accordance with what the National Mental Health Law proposes,” they reported.
