With the participation of thirty teams and more than 500 players from different parts of Chubut, this Thursday the 11th edition of the Provincial Men’s Futsal Tournament will begin in Esquel, which has the support of the Government of Chubut headed by Ignacio “Nacho” Torres .
The sports competition, which will last until Sunday, is organized by the Esquel Futsal Association (AFE) with the endorsement of the Argentine Indoor Soccer Confederation. And in addition to the support of Chubut Deportes, the Municipality of Esquel also supports its development.
The Provincial Futsal Tournament was officially presented with a press conference in which representatives of the Provincial Government, officials of the host municipality and AFE authorities, among others, participated.
Marcelo Millamán, president of the AFE, recalled that this is the eleventh edition of this already traditional tournament and celebrated the participation of representatives “from the Andean Region, the Plateau, the Valley, the mountain range and the south of Chubut.”
He also thanked the support of Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres for the start of the tournament and highlighted the prizes that will be up for grabs between cash and a trophy. “Without the support of the State we could not achieve it,” he stressed.
Matches in Esquel and Trevelin
The sports competition will bring together a total of 28 teams from different locations in the province and more than half a thousand players. The matches will begin this Thursday and will conclude with the grand final on Sunday.
There are three venues for the group stage matches: the “León Camilo Catena” municipal gym, the Multipurpose Room of School No. 112 and the Fontana de Trevelin Club sports complex.
Although the games will begin this Thursday at 5 p.m. in the gym of School 112, the opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday evening in the municipal gym of Esquel with the participation of all delegations and authorities.
The organization detailed the localities that will be represented in the sporting event, indicating that they are: Esquel, Trevelin, El Maitén, Gaiman, Epuyén, Comodoro Rivadavia, Corcovado, Cholila, Gualjaina, José de San Martín, Paso de Indios, Río Mayo, Puerto Madryn, Gastre, El Hoyo and El Bolsón (Río Negro).
