Rains in San Luis Potosí caused damage and damage to 25 schools

Juan Carlos Torres Cedillo, Secretary of Education of the State Government (Sege) from San Luis Potosí, reported that after the rains caused during the past week and part of this, by the Tropical storm “Alberto”some educational facilities throughout the state had minor damages, without compromising the integrity of the facilities. students.

According to the data issued by the Seege, they were 25 basic education schools who suffered damages such as: water leaks, humidity, collapse of drains and damage to a perimeter mesh, which did not compromise the infrastructure of the schools.

The educational centers with damage are located in municipalities such as: San Luis Potosí, Guadalcázar, Ciudad Valles, Ciudad del Maíz and Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, and work is being done there to repair the breakdowns caused by the heavy rainsso that the students continue their learning process prior to concluding the 2023-2024 school year.

During the rains that are estimated to continue during the hurricane and cyclone season in the country, Juan Carlos Torres said that they will remain vigilant to supervise the schools, as well as intervene in any damage that may occur.

He also indicated that in conjunction with security authorities, both state and municipal, surveillance will be maintained in the Basic Education Centers during vacations to prevent crimes such as theft or damage to infrastructure, in favor of the students of San Luis Potosí. .
