LOGROÑO, June 13. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Parliament of La Rioja will face in September, with the start of the next political year, an “update” of the Infrastructure Pact with the reactivation of the presentation that shaped it in 2018, as announced today by the President of the Government Riojan, Gonzalo Capellán.

Capellán opened today’s session in the Parliament of La Rioja, responding to a question from the spokesperson for the Socialist Group, Javier García, who wanted to know if the president believes that it is necessary to “reactivate” the presentation to monitor the Pact by the Infrastructures to update it.

The president, first from the bench, has been a firm defender of dialogue, not only with the parliamentary arch but also with the economic and social agents “and, even, as has been demonstrated, with the central Government for the defense of the interests of La Rioja”.

Chaplain has reaffirmed his defense of the pact signed in 2018 and has believed that, “With the updates and studies that are being carried out, at the beginning of the sessions, September will be a good time to reactivate that presentation.”

In his turn to reply, García wanted to refer to the recent visit of the Minister of Transport, Oscar Puente, making a positive assessment of a meeting that was based on an Infrastructure Pact signed in 2018 when the ‘popular’ Jose Ignacio Cenicero was president, which he has described as “historic” and which, he has seen, it is time to “update”.

He recalled that it contained “desires that have been carried out, such as the progress on the A-12 or the Puerto Seco and the railway section in Rincón de Soto.” “What we propose is that we add new desires and put the progress made on paper,” he said.

Chaplain, already from the podium, has understood that the Riojan society, the other “affected communities”, the State and the entire political arc must be present in the pact.

“The update will have to be put on paper at the beginning of sessions with new proposals,” he said in reference to the announcement made by Puente that La Rioja may have a new railway frequency, through Calahorra, when it has new rolling stock that will put La Rioja “below three hours” with Madrid.

He has added the link of the AP-68 through San Asensio, as the “most appropriate” to achieve “permeability” and has reaffirmed the need to “move forward together on a strategic and crucial issue for the future of the people of Rioja” .
