According to the survey carried out by Fenalco Antioquia, citizens indicated that 71% will celebrate this date.
This weekend Father’s Day will be celebrated in Colombia, considered by the tradeas the third most important date of the yearThis is why, from Fenalco Antioquia, they asked the citizens what they will give as gifts, how and where they will celebrate it.
71% of Antioquians will celebrate this datewhile 29% responded that they will not celebrate it, 44% reported that their father is not alive or is far away and 22.2% do not have money for it, a figure that was 18.6% in 2023 .
Likewise, they explained that the survey reflects the current conditions of the economy, which reported, in 2023, a poor growth of 0.6% in Colombia and0.16% in Antioquia.

María José Bernal, executive director of Fenalco, Antioquia, assured that the willingness to purchase gifts showed a decrease in6% compared to 2022 and 2023.
“andl 59.6% of Antioquians will celebrate at home20.4% at a relative’s house, 15.8% in a restaurant and 2.1% going on a trip,” argued the executive director.

Furthermore, they stated that, regarding the budget designated for this special date,28.6% will spend between $50,000 and $100,00034.5% between $100,000 and $200,000, 12.9% between $200,000 and $300,000 and 15.2% more than $300,000.
“The citizens surveyed responded that they preferchain stores to buy the gift for the father with 36.4%followed by the Center 14.9%,” said María José Bernal
In the survey they also asked what they would give as gifts and the majority responded thatclothing and footwear with 69.6%,money or gift vouchers 10.4% and technological items 3.7%.
