Plaza Juan Jufré, located in Concepción, hosted the official event that commemorated the 461 years of the Foundation of San Juan. The emotional ceremony was attended by Governor Marcelo Orrego.

To commemorate the 462 years of San Juan, the governor said: “It is an honor for me to be celebrating the 462nd anniversary of our beloved Province of San Juan today. In the preview I had to enjoy a work that seemed extraordinary to me. He says, we want to stay here. They talk about the stormy moments that we San Juan residents have had to live through, but it clearly marked the moments in which we live. Then, the governor greeted the June 13 Police Group. During the event, an offering of laurels was placed at the monument to Juan Jufré, founder of San Juan and, immediately afterwards, they sang the verses of the Argentine National Anthem.

Mayor Susana Laciar also addressed the people of San Juan saying that “It is a pride to lead this celebration as a woman.
This June 13, to commemorate the 462 years of the founding of San Juan, we begin with protocol acts: raising of the flag, reception of the governor and review of the military authorities. Then, we pay tribute to the native peoples. Starting at noon, there will be arts and crafts festivals from different departments, as well as a gastronomic patio. San Juan is officially celebrated today, although the city’s celebration is daily.”

Prior to this, the act of Raising the National Flag was carried out, led by Vice Governor Fabián Martín and Mayor Susana Laciar, and the Raising of the Official Flag of the Province.
