The VIII Itinerant Artistic Exhibition “Kakü Serankua: Myths and Legends” in the district of Prado Sevilla and Orihueca, was developed successfully.

This event included the participation of children and young people from the rural areas of the municipality of Zona Bananera, who presented legends and popular stories from this important region.

At the closing, recognitions were given to the participating children and young people with the support of Fedepalma, Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge and the IED Humberto Velásquez.

This initiative was based on the realization of artistic and pedagogical activities that contribute to the preservation, transmission and projection of the elements of the intangible culture of our territories.

The exhibition linked emerging and established artists, who, through live performance, oral narration, storytelling, dramatic reading, theatrical dramatizations and the use of digital and physical content, seek to impact communities in urban and rural areas of the department of Magdalena. .

In this edition, the artistic and pedagogical activities were carried out in person in the rural areas of Guachaca, La Revuelta, Puerto Mosquito, Prado Sevilla and Orihueca, benefiting the population with limited access to artistic and cultural projects.

The selected children and young people shared the stage with the invited artists, who also participated in pedagogical and recreational activities aimed at the various communities.

In each of the spaces, artistic processes of oral narration, storytelling and dramatic readings were developed, all based on myths, legends and stories from the Colombian Caribbean region, especially from the department of Magdalena.

Recognitions were given to the participants of each exhibition and a digital booklet will be published with the legends, stories and myths presented, which will be disseminated on digital platforms.

This new version had more than 120 children and young people registered, 10 performing artists and more than 2,000 spectators, thus contributing to safeguarding and projecting our cultural identity.

The organizers of this event extend their gratitude to the institutions and entities that accompanied them such as: Festicaribe, Fundam, Fedepalma, IED Puerto Mosquito, IEI La Revuelta, San Rafael, IED Humberto Velásquez García, and IED Rodrigo Vives De Andreis, among others. .
