Oppedisano. Tomorrow the women’s teams will change: Adina will be in charge of Josefina Viejouelo and how Giannetta will sing Claudia Manrique”.

“It is a joy to stage this opera again, because we know the importance of the genre for Tucuman culture. For us artists this is a great incentive, and ‘Elixir’ is a great production that we love to put back on stage,” he adds.

Social differences

The Tucumán setting is set in the 1930s. The plot revolves around rejection and social differences, showing love as an egalitarian sign through the false elixir.

The story begins by showing Nemorino, a young man without money or work, he is the least interesting candidate for the women of his town. He is madly in love with Adina, a well-off peasant woman who constantly rejects him.
