In the heart of La Rioja, where the vineyards are intertwined with history, is Briones, a town that takes a trip back in time every June to celebrate its medieval roots. For two days, visitors can immerse themselves in an atmosphere that recalls life in the Middle Ages, with its fights, jousts and jesters that fill the cobbled streets with life.

The uniqueness of Briones is manifested in its architecture, with ancestral houses that seem to tell stories of times past. More than seven hundred people, dressed in period attire, bring ancient trades to life, from stonemasons to spinners, brewmasters and blacksmiths, all contributing to the historical atmosphere of the place.

The assaults between Castilian and Navarrese warriors are one of the main attractions, offering spectators a realistic view of the combats of the time. Additionally, the re-enactment of witch trials by the Holy Inquisition and the chance to see a thief brought to justice add a touch of authenticity to the experience.

Gastronomy is not far behind, with wineries and inns that offer an assortment of food that delights the palate, allowing visitors to satisfy their hunger and thirst with flavors that evoke the past. At dusk, a light and sound show tells the story of the Peace of Briones, a historical event that marked the region.

This event is not a market, but a celebration of the history and culture of Briones, an opportunity to enjoy and admire the uniqueness of a town that, for a moment, leaves the present behind to honor its medieval legacy.
