The municipality of Santander de Quilichao, in the department of Cauca, was involved in an emergency situation due to the discovery of two explosive devices in the vicinity of the Prosecutor’s Office.
The authorities have responded quickly, cordoning off the area and mobilizing specialized personnel to handle the situation.
The first explosive device was discovered last night, when two men on a motorcycle threw a grenade while firing a traumatic weapon into the air. Fortunately, the grenade did not explode, but the incident generated an immediate alert among residents and authorities.
The second artifact was found early this morning, further increasing tension in the area. The authorities, upon noticing the second explosive, did not hesitate to quickly cordon off the road, restricting access to guarantee the safety of the population and allow the anti-explosive technical team to work without obstacles.
The National Police personnel quickly arrived at the scene, taking control of the situation and coordinating the closure of the road.
