The Colombian Army has killed this Monday the second in command of the ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ structure, integrated into the dissidence of the Central General Staff (EMC) of the extinct FARC of the department of Cauca, who would have participated in several actions against the authorities in the last eight years, which is why there was an arrest warrant against him. Colombian troops, in coordination with the Police, have carried out this operation in the rural area of Toribío, where this group was carrying out forced recruitment of minors, extortion, kidnappings, selective homicides or drug trafficking, according to what was published by the radio station W Radio. The militiaman has been identified by alias ‘Fito’ or ‘Junior’, who died during the fighting resulting from the aforementioned operation and who would be responsible for actions such as the murder of four police officers or the attack against the Corinto Mayor’s Office in March 2021. , which left 43 injured. Despite the start of peace talks between the Colombian Government and the EMC, Bogotá suspended the ceasefire declaration in the departments of Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño due to a series of guerrilla attacks against indigenous communities. Since then, there have been numerous clashes and attacks in the region, causing the death of both guerrillas and civilians and even members of the Colombian security forces.
