Eduardo Saldivia, Valparaíso Labor Law Judge, and Gonzalo Aguilera, chief lawyer of the Valparaíso Labor Defense Office and professor at the University of Valparaíso, were the speakers at the eighth session of the 2024 Trade Union School of the Law School from the University of Valparaiso. The conference was titled “Subcontracting regime and forms of externalization in the employment relationship”, and was moderated by Constanza Carrasco, UV student and member of the Union School.

In his presentation, Eduardo Saldivia carried out an analysis of what is supported by jurisprudence regarding the subcontracting regime, and the regulation of subcontracted work. For his part, Gonzalo Aguilera referred to the critical knots and complex problems of jurisprudence to resolve in matters of subcontracting.

The Trade Union School is an initiative organized by students of the Law School in coordination with the Department of Labor and Social Security Law, which seeks to offer a free and excellent training space for union leaders and workers interested in training in the subject. which this year resumed its activities after being suspended due to the pandemic.

The next session of the Union School will take place on Wednesday, June 19, from 6:00 p.m., in the Aula Magna Victorio Pescio Vargas of the Faculty of Law, located at Avenida Errázuriz 2120, Valparaíso. The speakers will be Jorge Andreucic, former regional director of the Valparaíso Labor Directorate, and Andrés Ahumada, professor at the University of Valparaíso. In the instance, they will refer to the topic “Role of the Labor Directorate in matters of collective law.”
