Authorities in IbaguéThey captured two men accused of being responsible for the murder of a personwhich occurred the previous Friday in the northern area of ​​the capital city, where they apparently approached their victim, Jeisson Alberto de José Mejía, 29, to attack her with a firearm.

According to the security camera records in the area, the attackersThey were traveling on a motorcycle in which they fled from the Portales del Norte neighborhood,after the attack, heading to a remote sector of the capital of Tolima,in order to take refuge and evade the actions of Police personnel.

“Our investigators began to review hours of recordings from different cameras in the area, which allowed us to identify a motorcycle, the routes, a house where they tried to change their clothing to evade police action,” said the colonel. Diego Mora, commander of the Ibagué Metropolitan Police.

With that,A search warrant was requested in two homes,in various sectors of Ibagué, which allowed the capture of these people.

One of the detainees was identified with the alias ‘Coco’, 20 years old, who has judicial notes for the crimes of carrying firearms, personal injury and homicide. Meanwhile,alias ‘Nene’, 28 years old, the other person involved, has a current sentence of 18 months for the crime of qualified and aggravated robberyas well as a history of other behaviors.

An attempt is being made to establish whether these two people would be linked to other homicides that occurred recently in Ibagué, since the previous week with this one there were five homicides.

This increase in homicides led to the implementation of a series of actions to guarantee security in the city,These include patrols with the Army in several areas.
