The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, returns to public life. After more than five months removed from her official agenda as a result of cancer, this Friday she gave a surprise by releasing a statement in which she stated that she is making “good progress” with her illness and that she will attend the parade this weekend. of the King’s Birthday. «I really want to attend. And I hope to join some public engagements over the summer, but I also know that I’m not out of the woods yet,” the Princess of Wales confessed through a statement on her X account accompanied by a photograph of her visibly under a tree. happy

«My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On days when I feel quite well, it is a pleasure to get involved with school life, dedicate personal time to things that give me energy and positivity, in addition to starting to work a little from home,” explains the princess in a text that He begins by thanking him for the expressions of affection and support he has received during these months, words that, he says, have served as “help” to overcome some of the “hardest moments” of the disease.

In the statement, the Princess of Wales says that as a result of the disease she has learned to be “patient, especially in the face of uncertainty.” As the princess tells it, each day of her illness is different. «As anyone who is going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to letting your body rest. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling good.”

A hidden illness

This Saturday will thus be the first event that the Princess of Wales has had since she attended the Christmas mass on December 25 with the entire family. At the end of January she had to interrupt her schedule for health reasons.

At first, and over two months, the leave was justified by an abdominal operation about which little information was revealed, beyond the fact that the Princess would remain hospitalized between “10 and 14 days.” But after a brief statement from the palace on January 29 in which it was assured that the Princess of Wales was making “good progress”, secrecy was installed in Windsor and rumors flourished day after day. Two months in which the information and rumors did not stop and to which the Palace only responded with statements in which they assured that they would only inform about the princess’s health when “something was significant.”

At the end of March, with a royal family also pending the evolution of the cancer for which King Charles III was being treated and with Queen Camilla and Prince William as the highest representatives of the crown, Kedsington Palace released a video of Kate Middleton in which she recounted, sitting on a wooden bench, the treatment she was receiving with the aim of ending speculation about her long period of absence.

A period, however, characterized by speculation about a possible breakup between William and Kate, and the manipulation that the princess herself carried out on a family photograph to show the world that, apparently, everything was fine.
