This Saturday, June 15, the event will begin in Ciudad Universitaria through which it seeks to create new proposals to face reality in the face of the political decisions of the national government. It calls on all “the makers of culture and communication, art and expressions who see their development possibilities diminished day by day.”
Next Saturday, June 15, in the University City of the National University of Córdoba, the I Regional Congress of Culture and Communication will take place.
The activity is part of the preparation of what will be the Federal Congress of Culture and Communication to be held in August in the city of La Plata.
The call, arising from the union centers that represent the workers -CGT,
CTA of the Workers and CTA Autonomous- and of the Federal Cultural Front, has added adhesions in
different parts of the country. In Córdoba the Congress has the support of the National University
of Córdoba, the faculties of Arts, Communication and Social Sciences of the UNC, the Faculty of Humanities and
the Communication degree at the University of Río Cuarto, the University Publishing House of Villa María,
the unions linked to the cultural and communication activity of the province and different
groups that bring together those who lead the sectors involved.
“Faced with the progress of the national government on life and cultural and communication development in our country, in the face of a context of dehumanization of workers and the breaking of the most deeply rooted social ties and values in our society, the response It must be forceful,” they state in the call document. In this sense, the proposal invites a task of articulating updated proposals. The different working groups will come together in a Cordoban contribution to a Federal Culture and Communication strategy.

Furthermore, they indicated: “We seek to create new proposals to face the harsh sociocultural reality that we are going through. In every corner of the province there are makers of culture and communication, art and the most diverse expressions who see their development possibilities diminished day by day. The advance of the national government on historical cultural policies and the subjugation of rights cannot remain unanswered. In addition to defending our sovereignty and democratic diversity, we want to value the potential for the development of creativity and cultural, informative and audiovisual productions from Córdoba.”
The organization highlighted that cultural and communication rights are the pillars of any democratic and republican society, and in that sense they have proposed that the Córdoba regional congress be made up of a broad participation that brings together the voices and experiences of each point of the provincial territory.
Dance, theater, music, performing arts, plastic arts, cinema and audiovisual arts, popular libraries, communication, public and alternative media; all represented in one place to discuss current affairs and the future.
In the end, the organization maintained: “The richness of Cordoba’s history and cultural present, with all its territorial nuances, must be protected; From the deep interior to the capital, let us walk towards a great meeting in which we can recognize ourselves and organize ourselves to advance in the construction of a Federal Culture and Communication Strategy that improves regulations, financing and institutional organization. We Cordobans defend and promote our culture and our communication; as central axes that cross and shape our lives, as an expression of sovereignty, as a democratic practice.”
