The union of education workers of Río Negro, Unter, decided on a 48-hour strike for next week in protest against the salary situation and the latest measures of the provincial government. If there is no call for parity, teachers may not start classes after the holiday break.

The days of strike defined in the Congress that takes place in Regina They are for Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 3. The definition came after the debate that took place this Tuesday over the salary situation of teachers and in the context of the fight plan that began ten days ago.

Since the motions brought by the different sections of the province became known, it was expected harsh measures of force due to the growing confrontation between teachers and the government of Alberto Wereltineck.

For her part, Silvana Inostroza, general secretary of Unter, in dialogue with Diario RÍO NEGRO confirmed that it was agreed after an intense debate to go on strike to demand “the urgent call for joint ventures for the claim that we have been making for a long time.” He also announced that if there is no call from the Rio Negro Government toThey defined the “non-starting of classes after the break.”

The relationship between Unter and the Government escalated in tension since the plenary session of general secretariess decided to carry out a 24-hour strike on Friday, June 14, prior to the first long weekend of the month, and then ratified another strike on Wednesday the 19th.
