The Pontifical Bolivarian University (UPB) carried out an act of recognition to various committees, associations and livestock union entities of the department of Córdoba, within the framework of the National Livestock Fair.

The event was held in the “Alliances that Build” academic tent of this higher education institution, with the purpose of highlighting the work that these organizations carry out for the development and promotion of the livestock and agricultural industry in the region.

The Fr. Juan Camilo Restrepo Tamayo, rector of UPB Montería, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the academy and the productive sector to boost the competitiveness of the department.

“This is a call to build together a competitive department, one of the goals we have as a territory is to promote the development and growth of our territory, and that is why the knowledge that is woven in the academy must serve the productive sector” , he expressed.

Among the exalted entities are the Livestock Federation of Córdoba (Ganacor), the Cebuista Committee of Córdoba (CCC), the Cebuinos Lecheros & Cruces Committee (CCLC), the Promotora del Doble Propósito de Colombia (PRODESA), the Bufalista Committee of Córdoba (CBC), the Association of Sheep and Goat Producers of Córdoba (ASOVICOR), the Association of Cowboys of Córdoba and the Committee of Criollo Horses of Vaquería and their Crosses (CAVACRIOLLO).

In addition, the executive president of Ganacor, Humberto Lora, and the Government of Córdoba praised Bernardo Caballero Velásquez for his leadership and promotion of the Brahma breed in the region.

Adolfo de Jesús González, owner of Granja Santiago and Hacienda La Fortuna, was also distinguished for his uninterrupted participation for 30 years in the National Livestock Fair.
