An HK 5380 crop duster plane, owned by the company Control B, crashed this Friday morning in a banana plantation near the landing strip at one of the entrances to the municipality of Apartadó.

The incident, recorded around 8:00 am, is the second plane accident in the Urabá region so far this month.

The pilot, the sole occupant of the accident aircraft, suffered some bruises that were not life-threatening and was quickly treated by emergency medical services.

A similar incident occurred 12 days ago in Carepa. It turns out that an aircraft that was carrying out fumigation tasks in the area fell on June 2. This event has raised questions in the community due to the proximity between the dates of both incidents and the safety of air operations in the area.

Although local authorities and the company that owns the plane have not made a public statement, additional security measures are being evaluated to prevent future incidents and guarantee the protection of both the pilots and the populations near the operating areas of these aircraft.
