In Cienfuegos, in recent months, the air of Skydiving has been breathed. And it is that a group of young people and some veterans decided to join together to reopen the provincial branch of Air Sports in the Pearl of the South, on January 27, 2024with two clubs: Aeromodelling and Parachuting.
Cienfuegos has a history of Skydiving dating back more than 20 years. years. Of those times, Israel Quesada, instructor and current president of the Club speaks with nostalgia. It is a priority of the Parachuting Federation in Cuba to attract women to practice this sport. And Cienfuegos has taken important steps in this regard with five female members in the club, all in the process of preparation and training.
Recently, the Cienfuegos club held a jumping event, together with the Villa Clara club, at the Jaime González airport with excellent results and very enriching experiences.
During all these days of intense work of the Cienfuegos Air Sports branch, a female face stands out, that of the young Aguadense Madelaine López, a promise of Parachuting in Cienfuegos, 22 years old, the 4th grade student. year of Law at the University of Cienfuegos does not give up in her efforts to fight for her dream of being a parachutist.
Strength and tenderness are perfectly mixed in her, she is a young woman who inspires respect and admiration because not only did she make her first jump, but she returned with more energy and firmness to the plane door, again and again during the training days. at the Jaime González airport and demonstrated by jumping, with an outside that resounded throughout the city, that women can achieve our dreams.
