Mayor’s Office officially presented the Sea Festivals

The Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta made the official presentation of the 2024 Sea Festival called ‘El Origen’, During the evening, the bands were imposed on the Captains, both district and national, with this event the schedule of activities that will be the front room of the celebration begins.

The district administration affirms that it will spare no effort to make these the best Sea Festivals in the history of Santa Marta. Likewise, the Mayor’s Office developed a schedule of activities so that the Samarians can once again experience the celebration as in the past by returning to the estate.

Darío Linero, Secretary of Culture of Santa Marta, expressed that “12 nautical games will be held, the whaling parade will return, Great world-class musical artists will attend, such as Silvestre Dangond, and all events will be free for the entire Samarian public and visitors.”

Carlos Pinedo, mayor of Santa Marta, also addressed all those present declaring that, “I believe that the Sea Festivals should unite us just like the 500 years of Santa Marta, we want locals and visitors to say that we attended the best Sea Festivals, that is our great purpose; If we really position the city as a tourist destination, we will recover our identity and I will feel that in my period we have won.”

The Secretary of Culture also stated that an official presentation of the Sea Festival will be made in the main cities of the country and the Caribbean region, “Launching in Bogotá on June 26, in Barranquilla, Cartagena, Valledupar and Sincelejo within the 5 and on the 15th July, the festivities begin on the 25th but we are working on all the advertising issues to have the best Sea Festivals,” said Darío Linero, Secretary of Culture of Santa Marta.

Regarding the accusations that the ministry has received for the contract of more than 6 billion pesos, Linero stated that, “They are false and rebellious accusations against the city, because it has been a transparent process since that is the model.” which is used to carry out the Sea Festivals, does not know their projections, Santa Marta begins its 500 years precisely in this celebration.”
