Camagüey, June 15.- With the objective of analyzing the work of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) in the peasant sector, an activity was carried out in the town of La Campiña with members of the political organization and the National Association of Farmers Small (ANAP).

The battle against crime, corruption and illegalities, delays in payments to producers, as well as the lack of attention and incentives were the main approaches of young people.

Annelis Galeano Duarte, from the José Antonio Echeverría Credit and Services Cooperative, warned about the discontent and lack of motivation of many militants from areas far from the city, directly involved in the production of milk, meat and various crops, and that they are barely taken into account for recreational activities.

He also shared about the positive experiences of his Base Committee in cleaning hospitals, volunteer work, delivering products to Homes for children without family protection, nursing and maternity homes, and carrying out vocational training and Veterinary interest circles. with students from different teachings.

During the reading of the report, the insufficient preparation of the General Secretaries, who in many cases do not have an active presence, the low demands on militants with administrative positions and the lack of courage to face events, were pointed out as deficiencies.

Furthermore, it was detected that accountability is not used effectively, there is no systematic analysis of the crime, and that the Grassroots Committees are paternalistic when applying sanctions, among others.

To reverse this entire situation, a group of actions was proposed such as demanding the completion and training of economic personnel in cooperatives, ensuring that state resources are used in favor of production and services, analyzing the issue of crime through a thematic plan and not in a general way, intensify the actions of the Peasant Youth Brigades together with the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), use the evaluation and accountability of the militants in a more profitable way, and evaluate the base structures the result of the audits.

“Today’s meeting was preceded by the assets at the municipal level, it is a space where we evaluate the functioning of the Base Committees and how the growth has been behaving in each of the centers without political structure of our cooperatives, taking into account the reason for the work we have with the ANAP,” Liam Carvajo Baxter, first secretary of the UJC in Camagüey, explained to Adelante Heiner.

“In the same way we evaluate how young people participate in the production of food for the people, regardless of the limitations that we present today in terms of the lack of inputs and livestock module. Here we learned about their concerns, but we also saw how they have faced crime, the actions of vocational training and professional guidance, circles of interest and scientific societies, and we analyze the functioning of the Technical Youth Brigades (BTJ) and how each of them participate in the search for solutions to the problems that the sector presents through research , innovation and also the improvement of young people who opt for university careers,” he added.

Officials from the National and Provincial Directorate of the ANAP, the Communist Party of Cuba, the PNR, the Dairy Products Company, and the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture participated in the event, who clarified doubts and responded to the peasants’ proposals.

The occasion was also conducive to the delivery of recognitions to outstanding young people in the last stage of work and to Grassroots Committees that will be nominated for state decorations such as the José Antonio Echeverría and the Flag of Honor, stimulation mechanisms established by the UJC.

Camagüey has a membership of more than 1,480 militants in the sector, and for the next stage of work they have proposed developing a series of objectives, among which are enriching improvement actions, strengthening the BTJ, raising the level of political preparation and ideological of the militants and provide greater attention to their stimulation and recognition.
