Three houses affected by a landslide in Santa Marta, after a night of heavy rain.
The roof and walls of some homes in the Nueva Betel neighborhood, in Gaira, southern sector of Santa Marta, collapsed in the last few hours as a result of the landslide caused by the rain.
“Look at the disaster of the rain here where I live, we are miraculously alive, three houses were washed away last night by the water, mine was saved and miraculously”said one of the people affected by the situation.
It is worth mentioning that the Ideam and the Risk Management Unit warned that in the departments of the Magdalena and Atlantic Landslides, floods and strong winds could be caused due to the transit of a tropical wave towards the Colombian Caribbean coast.
Based on the above, in Santa Marta the probabilities of a second downpour during the course of the day remain high..
