The first day of the Vuelta a Colombia was captured in a 7.4 kilometer prologue that, on paper, seemed easy for the 170 cyclists who left after 1:00 pm with a difference of one minute between each cyclist, starting from the restaurant. Chivoreño, located on the highway that connects Guatequé with Macanal in the department of Boyacá.

But the reality of this first moment of the most important cycling race in the country was far from easy for these beetles, who from the first moment had to face an uneven road. The most complex part of the route was 2.5 kilometers from the finish line, where the inclination reached 10% and culminated at a height of 1,668 meters in Macanal Park.
The cyclists of the Orgullo Paisa team, with the tenacity that represents the people of Antioquia, faced this prologue with their heads held high, with the goal in mind of leaving our flag at the highest level.

Alexander Gil, team leader, spoke a little about how challenging this first moment of the race was: “it was a very difficult prologue, but this is just beginning. There is a lot of racing ahead and we are all in a very good attitude and ready for what lies ahead.”

The prologue of the Vuelta a Colombia gave the winner to the Nu Colombia cyclist, Rodrigo Contreras, who finished with a time of 00:15:50-001, moving away from Diego Andrés Camargo of the Petrolike team by 40 seconds, who came second in the race. goal.
