The pavilion of the Quintiliano de Calahorra school hosted the Second Leisure and Modeling Day this Saturday under the name ‘Lvdvs Calagvrritanvm’. A proposal that has the main objective of having a good time and enjoying the company without having to use … digital devices, new technologies.
The day took place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and was organized by the El Lazarillo cultural and collecting club, Rubén Hernández (Our Lady of Guadalupe scout group) and Eric Hernández Hermosilla.
The City Council, the Calahorra Regional Youth Council (CJCC), La Calle 2000 and several companies in the area collaborated in the event. Rubén explained that this year’s proposal was aimed at Calagurritans rather than attracting an audience from outside. There were a couple of model painting workshops for young children that were packed (they used 3D printed Pokémon figures) and board games owned by the CJCC that can be rented throughout the year. In other spaces, role-playing games for adults stood out, where the details of this type of games for an advanced level were taught.
The program also included a professional model painting course taught by an expert, Lego, Playmobile workshops and classic board games in search of entertainment. In addition, an escape room was held in two rooms in which teams of between 4 and 6 people competed to see who could escape first. Sessions were prepared both in the morning and in the afternoon.
The afternoon program offered a workshop on sculpting with putty and a 500-piece puzzle contest in pairs for all ages.
A stall selling different objects from El Lazarillo was set up at the venue, they sold tickets for one euro for the raffle for a prize valued between 60 and 80 euros, a collection of model trucks and cars, an exhibition of miniatures, another stall with a 3D printer and raffles for modeling tools and paints.
On the day, the older scouts set up a small bar to raise funds for a trip to Jaca and the younger ones participated in the workshops.
The organizers intend to establish this event and grow it in future editions.
